Sunflowers!

Last year a farmer near our home had 80 acres of sunflowers!  It was easily one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.  I was so disappointed this year, because he didn't replant them.  I am not sure why.  I did see an interview with the farmer last year, and he indicated that sunflowers are very cheap to plant, but the selling price had gone down.  I am wondering if that is why he chose not to plant them this year.  I was missing the sunflowers so much, so I was overjoyed when I found another field!  It's not as many as last year, but they are still stunning!

I can't think of anything more cheerful than a sunflower.

I walked up the path dividing the field, and just soaked it all in.

Have a sunny Sunday!

Amish Harvest Time

This past week I was able to get a few shots of the Amish harvesting their hay.  It was fascinating

I saw them driving down the road with this, and decided to follow to see what they were up to.
I think their bales are so interesting.
My dad said that his dad used to harvest this way.  My dad had heard stories of this method, but hadn't actually seen it until my photo's.

Summer Days

I am so happy that we have had so much rain this summer!  The flowers have been absolutely stunning! I pulled over immediately when I came upon this abandoned house, and lovely wild day lilies.
The flower gardens at Baker Creek Seed in Mansfield Missouri, are absolutely stunning!
Sweet baby clothes on a clothes line.
